Book Shop Search

There are 1070 books currently held in our book shop. The most popular searches are for Networking, Programming or Web Related.

How would you like to search the book shop (or show all books as a list)? Please refer to the Help beneath the form for information

General Information

• Click Search with no selections to display all books in the book shop with the default options (no pictures and long description and sorting on titles)
• Not all books have a description

General Search

Choose the field of computing that interests you. Please note that there is a fair amount of cross referencing as most books will cover more than one general subject

Specific Search

Enter the text you want to look for in the box provided. You can increase the chances of finding what you need by entering OR between the words. For example, Microsoft Word will show all titles including the words 'Microsoft Word' while Microsoft OR Word will show all titles including either 'Microsoft' or 'Word' (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc and Word processing and so on)

You can also limit your choice by including the word AND between your search words. For example, Microsoft AND Excel will find titles including both Microsoft and Excel.

Please note: you cannot currently mix AND's and OR's. It will either fail or produce incomplete results.

Specify where you want to look. Please note that not all books have a description. If you know the ISBN (International Standard Book Number), you can also search on that.

Sorting

Choose how you want the books to be sorted. They will be in ascending order on the field you select. The default order is on title

Show Images

If you would like to show the book cover together with the books put a tick in this box. Please note that, if you have a slow connection, it may significantly increase the download time

Long Descriptions

Please note that not all books in the Book Shop have a long description. Those that do are often are in excess of 100 words. In some cases (O'Reilly books only), you will also have access to the book's Table of Contents.

Please note: if you select the long description 5 books will be displayed on each page. If you do not select it, up to 100 books will be displayed on each page.
